Bob Daniels, the founder of The Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) and Federico Muchnik, the schools Director of Filmmaking stand in front of their Waltham, MA campus. At the turn of the century Daniels was able to see that the digital age would
redefine the changing "the cutting edge" of technology and that a revolution was about to
occur.
Daniels gathered some of his colleagues and discussed a place where students would learn-by-doing under the tutelage of skilled practitioners. He assembled a core staff who shared his vision, and they dug in to found a school and create a curriculum. In September 2004, CDIA welcomed its first class, The CDIA web site reads, "In every generation, there are artists who change their medium forever - with new tools, new techniques, or simply by expressing their vision in a new way. With the advent of digital imaging tools, artists once again have the opportunity to explode the boundaries of
creative expression. With new and innovative methods for you to tell your stories, express your dreams, and share your passions. Today, digital photography, filmmaking, 3D animation, visual effects, game art & design, and graphic & interactive design
are making new things possible.
" If you're ready to express yourself, we're (CDIA) ready to help. All it requires is your passion to train, grow and extend your creative potential.
