This May it gives us great pleasure to place Cinematographer Jonathan Guilbert on
the cover of IMAGINE. Jonathan is a Director Cinematographer hyphenate who hails
from Great Britain, but found himself in America on a shoot for the Discovery Channel.
Deciding he would like to live in the U.S., he began to look around for a city that suited him. Lucky for New England, friends showed him Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which he loved. He moved his family along with his Gandy Dancer Production company
there in the early '90s.
Eastman Kodak first brought Guilbert to our attention here at IMAGINE when they were publicizing his PBS television show "Diner on the Diner." The show was successfully shot on Kodak's new film at the time in varying locations and lights all over the world. The show was shot on famous trains with celebrated chefs in
Africa, Thailand, Scotland, Spain and on the Eastern and Oriental Express.
Jonathan Guilbert is partial to film and is seldom far from his beloved Aaton. Read his story in this issue.
Our cover photo is by Bill Isaacs. Our cover design is by Monique Walton, IMAGINE's Design Editor.
Our next issue presents The Summer Film Festivals in New
England. And the New England Films that were selected to screen at Nantucket, Newport, P-Town, Plymouth,Woods Hole,Waterville and more!
