LOCATION SHOT OF THE MONTH

Location Shot of the Month is a new feature in IMAGINE

We have instituted it because it gives us a more dramatic opportunity to show off the versatile, unique, and mysterious landscapes, architecture, and varied locations available in New England. Plus it gives IMAGINE an opportunity to honor the great photographers who work in our region capturing its breathtaking beauty. We plan to present this new feature every month. You are invited to submit your work along with as much information you would like to include, such as your personal bio, a bio-pic, the equipment and film you used and any other information you believe our readers may like to have. Submit your location photos in no less than 300dpi to publisher@imaginenews.com. PUB

NOBSKA BEACH

Kathy captured this Nobska Beach photo with her 35mm pro Nikon camera. She has been scouting Cape Cod from her Falmouth base for 15 years, searching for the those moments revealing nature's artful hand. Her images are a composition of geometry, brilliant color, certain angles of light, spirit and a sense of story. Finding the subject is a fraction of the effort. Studying its gradations of light and seasonal personalities are another, demanding patience and repeat visits for the right moment. Frisbee's stock of scenic to portrait images encompasses a wide range of subjects from across Cape Cod, including scenes from the Battle of Falmouth Reenactment held here in 1999, to today's descendants of Cape Cod's ancient first civilization - the Wampanoag - as they dance at their annual July pow wow attended by thousands of people of all cultures, to honor the ancient ones and nature.

She is an independent photojournalist, writer and columnist for two regional news groups. Her work has appeared in all media forms locally and internationally. Frisbee was born in Mississippi, has traveled extensively and lived on Cape Cod for 18 years. She studied English literature and journalism at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA., and at the University of Colorado. Her work with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in market research deepened her interest in history and humanity, which led her to a wide range of writing, photography and public relations projects, from co-producing community television programs; to public relations and planning for the Battle of Falmouth Reenactment in 1999; writing and photographing unique homes, estates, artists, artisans, and a Viking commemoration; filming the largest Native American pow wow east of the Mississippi, and producing a cultural and educational photo exhibit in tribute to Native Americans, which has been shown at the Boston Statehouse. Frisbee works from her home office in Bourne along Buzzards Bay. She may be reached via email:  kshrpfrs@gis.net Her website is:  www.kathysharpfrisbee.com
