The Provincetown International Film Festival, scheduled for June 16-20, enters its sixth year with the announcement of the 2004 recipient of the annual Filmmaker on the Edge award. This year the Festival honors director/writer Jim Jarmusch, whose cinematic achievements over the past two decades include STRANGER THAN PARADISE (1984), DOWN BY LAW (1986), MYSTERY TRAIN (1989), DEAD MAN (1995), GHOST DOG: THE WAY OF THE SAMURAI (1999), and his upcoming release COFFEE AND CIGARETTES (2004).
Kick off the festival at their Opening Night Party at the Crown & Anchor, sponsored by Bacardi Limon and the Crown & Anchor, on Wednesday, June 16, 9 PM. You must be 21+ to attend. The Pied Bar hosts Chick Flicks Party and Film at an afternoon bash of film and fun. Sponsored by Olivia and the Pied Bar, Friday, June 18, 3:30 PM. A night of videos and dancing is scheduled at the Crown and Anchor Wave Bar on Friday, June 18, 10 PM, no cover, but you must by 21+ to attend.
The Festival and sponsor Sam Adams Beer will present a classic New England clambake that's not to be missed. Catered by Sumptuous Foods, and featuring the reggae sounds of Shango Axe, join up at the Pied Bar for great food, dancing, beach volleyball, and a Cape Cod good time! That’s on Saturday, June 19, 5:30pm.
