Donlin Teleproduction Engineering, Ltd. is celebrating its 15th anniversary as an audio and video equipment rental and production engineering services company based in Watertown, MA.

In 1986, David Donlin, president, opened the doors to a promising new business as a one-man show providing engineering services for local productions. The business was started out of personal necessity but quickly developed into a thriving business for Donlin, "I've had some good breaks and a lot of luck. The company has grown every year and is now ready to expand into the next level of service."

It wasn't all luck though. Donlin has 30 years of production experience dating back to his high school years in cable access programming. Experience blended with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, a wide variety of brands and products and exceptional client customer service is Donlin's secret to success. "We go above and beyond what you would normally expect from a rental house and provide our clients with customer care around the clock," boasts Donlin, "and that's the Donlin Difference."

Today Donlin Teleproduction offers nationwide, full-service audio and video equipment rentals, crew and production engineering services, maintenance services, two specialty websites, and has also recently joined the high-tech arena providing live web streaming and MPEG downloads.

Donlin's rental department offers a wide variety of brands and products. This department continuously expands its inventory. The latest additions include upgrading all of its teleprompting systems to the latest QTV hardware featuring LCD flat panel displays on 12" and 15" prompters and the installation of WinCue Pro software. Donlin also added Ikegami HL-DV7W and HL45-AW. The DV7 combines Ikegami's outstanding camera technology with the DVCAM VTR format in a unibody design. The new 45A has 12-bit digital processing and accepts a variety of dockable VTR formats. Satisfied clients include Bob Demers, independent director of photography in Boston, who is pleased with Donlin's choice of purchasing the Ikegamis, "Donlin maintains the highest level of quality and I'm very happy with the new cameras. Ikegami is the best image acquisition system around and if somebody's shooting DVCAM, the HL-DV7 is the way to go."

Backed by 15 years "in-the-trenches" with broadcast network production and on-location experience, Donlin's crew and engineering services consist of a dependable and skilled production team with hands-on experience. In fact, just recently NBC's Dateline called on Donlin to supply engineering services and equipment for a follow-up story on the Greineder murder trial in Boston.

Looking to technology to offer the next level of service, Donlin opened shop online making it even easier for clients to rent or buy. Donlin's rental site, www.donlinte.com, is a great tool for producers providing the latest news and information on equipment rentals plus offers online pricing and inquiry submission form. Donlin's online store, www.buydonlin.com, offers a comprehensive inventory of over 1,200 name brands. The online store features an easy to use search and ordering system and is secured by VeriSign.

Through the years Donlin has established a loyal clientele list as well as many one-time-only assignments ranging from daily rentals to long-term projects. Clients include broadcast networks, independent producers, Fortune 500 corporations, production/post-production facilities and web designers. "We are the best rental company out there for producers and corporations that need more than a bargain," states Jan Wilmot, Director of Sales and Marketing, "if you need professional expertise and top notch service, we're the one to call. Worry-free rentals are what we're all about."

Recently Donlin supplied two Fujinon 4.8x10 wide-angle lenses for a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert presented by AT&T, which was broadcast on MTV. Other recent projects include providing a Grass Valley Switcher Package for the 2001 NBA Finals, an Ikegami HL59 ENG package plus grip and crew for the Tuck School of Business Competitive Simulation War Games at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, and performing editing services for KISS 108 FM Matty in the Morning Show performance at the 2001 KISS Concert.

Looking ahead to the next fifteen years, Donlin Teleproduction looks forward to continuing to develop great relationships, provide the finest engineering services and grow its online store. Says Donlin, "We want to make your production effort go smoothly, and that's what it's all about!"
